Penguin's Christmas Eve

Dear Friends,

I am going to visit a special friend today—my good friend, Pinecone, for Christmas Eve. He lives in the forest. It snowed last night, so I hope he is wearing the scarf I knitted him so he can stay cozy. I will decorate him with Christmas lights today!

Oh dear! It looks like I decorated myself with lights instead!

Hello, Pinecone! It's so good to see you again. My,... how you've grown!

I brought some lights to decorate you with. I hope you like it.

And I brought some presents too!

 This one is extra special.

Merry Christmas, Pinecone.

I'm glad you like the wreath!

What's that? You'd like to open a present? Okay. Just one!

How about this one?

It looks perfect on you, Pinecone!

I wish you a cozy, happy, and magical Christmas with your family and friends!

Love,
Penguin

  3. Penguin! We went to try and find some of your cousins the day after Christmas day... but I didn't see any penguins, just a lot of cormorants. From a distance they look a bit like penguins but when they started flying off into the clouds I knew they couldn't be penguins... because penguins can't fly!

I was sad we didn't see any penguins so I gave my baby chinstrap penguin a cuddle when I got home. He's very soft and he doesn't smell of fish.

  4. Dear Lili,

That's so nice that you tried to look for my cousins! It sounds like you had a lovely day.

I will remember to brush my teeth extra well so I don't smell of fish should we ever meet.

    Love,
    Penguin

  5. You have teeth?! Are they small like mine or big like my mum's or... even bigger like a shark's?!

  6. Well... I don't quite have teeth like you do, Lili. But I have rough plates in my beak that sort of act like teeth (helps me grip my fish so they don't slip away!)... and I like to keep them clean and my breath fresh.

    Oh... and happy New Year!

    Love,
    Penguin

  7. Does that mean the tooth fairy never visits you? Do you still have to go to the dentist? (I like my dentist, they give me stickers.) Do you eat the scales and the bones in the fish too? And their tails? Their tails don't look very tasty to me.

Happy new year Penguin! I hope your year is filled with fresh fish, friends and fun! (Try saying that very quickly!)

  8. Dear Lili,

You are right. The tooth fairy doesn't visit penguins. I swallow small fish whole and my stomach helps to break it down for my body to digest. You need to chew your food before it goes in your tummy!

Thank you for wishing my year to be filled with fresh fish, friends and fun! Hee hee... I can't say that fast!

I hope your year is full of discovery, fun crafts, cuddles with your baby sister, and lots and lots of love! Oh, and delicious treats. I do love treats!

    Love,
    Penguin

  9. Hi Penguin and Pinecone! What did you get from Santa?

I had a fun Christmas too!

  10. Dear Lilia,

I got exactly what I wished for... and that was lots and lots of yarn! I love to knit cozy things for my friends. I also got a big jar of bubbles, an igloo making kit, and a snow globe.

I gave Pinecone a Santa hat that I made myself. I also knitted him some colorful scarves. Santa brought him a star to put on his crown. I bet he will wear it for next Christmas.

I hope you got what you wished for, too!

    Love,
    Penguin

  11. Hi Penguin. I like what you did in the winter. What will you do in the spring? I hope you have fun on Easter. I hope you find a lot of gold from the leprechauns. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

    1. Dear Mossimo,

I am very happy to hear from you. Springtime is always a very busy time. First, I must start building my leprechaun trap! Will you be building one too? I hope you'll come back to see mine, and see if it worked! Then I can't wait until the big Easter Egg hunt on Easter. But in between the holiday fun, I will do some gardening because I love to see things grow.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

      Love,
      Penguin
