Penguin and Bear

Dear Friends,

If some of you have read PENGUIN and PINECONE, you know that I spent some time in the forest. But what you DON'T know is who I met while I was returning home.

I'll start here:

After leaving Pinecone in the forest, I went on my way
with a heavy heart and headed back south.

But I lost my way. I was hot and thirsty, but a kind Bear
invited me in for some ice cold lemonade.

I shared my journey of friendship with Pinecone, and Bear had a
special story of friendship of his own!

Here is a picture of us together.

Bear's story will come out with Walker Books for Young Readers in Spring, 2014!

I was very happy to meet Bear. He was very kind, and gave me a big Bear hug before
I continued on with my journey back home.

Oh, and don't forget to write, Bear!

I hope you hugged a friend today!

Love,
Penguin

  2. Dear Katie,

Thank you for leaving me a message! I am glad you enjoyed it. Mama says she can't tell you how many hours her husband put into making that house for Bear. Hand-painted, hand-cut, hand-glued shingles on the roof, among many other details.

    Penguin

  3. Wow! I came looking for an email address, which I could not find, and stayed for the site. Penguin's antics are great. Your pictures are fantastic. If your imagination extends to your books, I am making the right choice.

I was looking for your email to introduce myself: my name is Sue MOrris and I run Kid Lit Reviews http://kid-lit-reviews.com, and to ask a favor: I would love to review your books, now and in 2014 (I have a calendar so long-term commitments are okay.

If you are interested, contact me at morris (dot) suem @ att (dot) net. I use Wordpress, but my ID no longer works with the company that does open ID, so my comment will come from me at Google. I am not at Google. Okay, I am at Google+, but I always forget to go there and say something.

I love your sense of humor, your website, and your books - well, they look adorable and something my readers and myself would love to read. Can I share them with my readers? Pretty please with a penguin on top?

  5. Dear Dylan,

I am afraid I do not have a book when Bear was just a baby. I'm glad you enjoyed his baby pictures in the book, STORMY NIGHT! I bet your mom has very cute pictures of YOU when you were a baby! Have her share some stories with you! Until then, I will think more about Bear's future stories. :-)

    Love,
    Salina
P.S. Bear has a new book coming out in June titled, "Bear's Big Day." It's about Bear's first day of school.

Thank you for your message! I am decoding it now! 7777777774444422221'''''''sssss! <---this means "Thank you for writing me, and for reading my books!"
