St. Patrick's Day is near, and I want to catch a leprechaun! But if I want to catch one, I'll have to build a trap. You can make one with almost anything! I don't have many supplies in my shed, but I found some things that might be useful; a fruit crate, a garden fork, a spool of yarn, a brass bell, and a pot of gold. (You didn't think penguins carried cash, did you?) Let's see what I can do with these!
First, I poured out some of my gold because leprechauns love gold! Then, I placed the brass bell on top as bait. I tied the yarn to the handle of the fork, and the fork tip props up the crate. Can you figure out how I can trap a leprechaun with this?
I found something green to wear for St. Patrick's Day! I am pretending to be a plant so the leprechauns do not see me here waiting for them to come out.
When the leprechaun comes to steal the brass bell (because they are so naughty), I will pull on the yarn, and the leprechaun will be trapped! But of course I would let him go after I offered him some hot chocolate (topped with green marshmallows) and biscuits. I like to make new friends, even with naughty little leprechauns!
What does your leprechaun trap look like?
If you send a picture to salinayoon@yahoo.com by St. Patrick's Day (Sunday, March 17th), I'll share it here on Monday!
Happy trap-building!
Love,
Penguin

From Lilia:
ReplyDeleteI like when Penguin put on leaves and pretended to be a plant. That was really funny.
I also like your leprechaun trap.
Did you catch a leprechaun? Yes or No?
And my stuffed penguin wants to say something too: I like the gold!
Dear Lilia,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you liked my leprechaun trap, but unfortunately, it did not work. :-( You will see what he did for yourself in the photos above.
Happy St. Patty's Day, Lilia, and to Stuffed Penguin!
Love,
Penguin
